Caterpillar plans at MINExpo

Caterpillar, which will be on display in the Central Hall (Booth 6229) of the Las Vegas Convention Center during MINExpo International 2021 , has a number of offerings planned for the trade show Sept. 13-15.

Cat, for example, will showcase the MD6310 rotary blast hole drill, which offers technology, increased efficiency, safety and productivity. The drill fully integrates Cat components and systems and is capable of handling bit loads up to 92,922 pounds with bore diameters ranging from 8 to 12.5 inches.

The company will also demonstrate how technology can improve safety in the mine with the Cat MineStar Detect Driver Safety System (DSS) display, detailing how the system monitors eye closure and head position to alert drivers with seat vibration and audible alarms when fatigue or distraction is detected. DSS has been proven to reduce 97 percent of the most significant cases of fatigue, Cat says, and 80 percent of average cases of fatigue, plus 91 percent of distracted driving.

In addition, several Cat Command stations and trailers will be on display for MINExpo attendees to experience efficient remote control and semi-autonomous drilling, bulldozing and underground operations from a distance.

Lifecycle Solutions

Caterpillar’s capabilities in remanufacturing services will also be on display at MINExpo, where the C175-16 Cat Reman engine will be featured. This engine develops up to 3,420 hp, which reduces overall ownership and operating costs.

In addition, Cat representatives will explain how MineStar Health maximizes equipment availability and reliability by connecting the machine to the office. The service helps with preventive maintenance and predictive analysis of equipment by collecting equipment data, monitoring critical machine parameters, getting real-time alerts, analyzing operating trends and patterns, predicting failures and getting repair recommendations.

Other suggestions

In addition to groups of workers with expertise in machinery and technology, Cat Financial and Cat Solutions will be present at MINExpo to share safety, fleet management and productivity offerings that can be combined into complete site solutions.

A ThoroughTec training simulator will provide an opportunity to experience the 7495 electric rope excavator. Attendees will also be able to experience two next-generation machine cabs – one for dump trucks and the other for the 6060 hydraulic mining excavator – through real cabs on display.
